For this activity, we were supposed to compare and analyze sports newspapers. When we erased the titles of the other sports newspapers, we couldn’t tell which was which. The problem with the sports newspapers was their complicated looking titles, whose uniformed layouts only covered the top issues. The headlines were complex, and heaped-up images without consistent rules. They also used too many typefaces and colors on the page and so on. The strategy of this project was to eliminate the sensational design in a Korean sports newspaper, and to pursue a sophisticated and systematic layout.
